How many of you keep a journal or some type of writing notebook? What types of things go into your journal? Do you ever develop the things in your journal into stories, articles, or other writing?

This year, I am keeping a devotional journal. The devotional book I am reading this yearTEXT, is taking me through the New Testament. I record something about each day's reading in a journal. I entitle each day's entry in two parts. The first part is always the same verb and the second part of the title is about what stands out to me as I have read.

Thanks for sharing this. Sounds challenging. Is it difficult for you to put into words what the text means to you? This is an excellent method of self reflection.

Sometimes it takes a while. By doing this journaling using the New Testament, I find in the first three gospels, with the stories basically the same that I am getting more relaxed with relating a story or it's message as I have read them in the earlier book. This month I am reading Luke.

I have so many questions about your thoughts on the Gospels and the different versions. But that will wait for another time...

Cece, is the verb supplied for you, or suggested by the devotional book? Do you mean it is the same verb every day? This interests me!

Nancy, I chose the verb "consider" as the first word in each entry. Right now, I am two days behind where I should be. I am at the end of the book of Luke.
Some entry titles that come to my mind right now are:
Consider Our Attitude
Consider Servanthood
Consider Surrender
Consider Humility
Consider Who Jesus Is
These are things we have to think about as we go through our lives.

Tough topics. Don't know if I could express my thoughts on those topics in words.
